Thank you to all of the men and women who have served, are serving, and will serve our country. The sacrifices they’ve made will not be forgotten.
Green Bay is a dreary place to be today, and the weather reminded me of my trip to Waimea Canyon. Frequently referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” Waimea Canyon is located on the island of Kauai. We had to fight through the pouring rain and the seemingly never-ending fog, but the views were worth it.
One of my all-time favorite experiences has been ziplining through Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii, which is where Jurassic Park was filmed. It’s one thing to experience Hawaii’s scenery from the ground, and it’s another thing to fly right through it. There were waterfalls below me, the mountains were looming above me; I definitely pretended I was a pterodactyl once or twice. One of the most exciting parts was getting to go on one of the lines upside down. Flipping upside down was the easy part, but getting myself back on the ground afterward was tricky. And most embarrassingly, the scariest part was trying not to drop my phone as I took the below selfie mid-air, 200 feet above ground. This is the kind of thing those life proof phone cases are for, right?
